Human Sculpture: Our world/torn down
17/10/11 || Habakuk
With reviewing as well as simply listening to music, I constantly amass a huge load of new stuff to listen to. Making the two piles of good stuff and stuff I want/need to review merge as much as possible helps, but isn’t nearly enough. So, an extra three track EP is about as much as I can take. Kudos for keeping it short, Human sculpture. Especially when having a signature sound (“modern”) whose mere mentioning gives me Scabies as the self-proclaimed resident old school advisor. Good thing they have the needed remedies at hand.
Breakdowns are met with surrounding songs, the production isn’t too shabby (the wonders of technology put to comparably good use), and while you can hear symptoms of Ruaaawhuaaaluaaa in the vocals, they remain listenable – but we, no they have a major problem, doctor: After the total 15 minutes of the whole thing, not much actually sticks, though I faintly remember track one being a bit better than the rest. Something makes me question: Couldn’t I have done without Scabies to begin with? Whatever, I’ll just follow Mum’s age-old advise and lie down with some Bolt Thrower.
5/10: Is the pharmaceutical industry now selling music, too?
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
